Since March 26th this year, the government of Fiji had locked down our nation to decrease the spread of this pandemic we are all facing. As we isolate ourselves to keep others save we are left in the comforts of our homes that start to feel uncomfortable in the depths of our bones. I want to share a poem with you, whoever you are, to keep the faith and be strong.
Losing count of days I’ve been here.
Dates that have gone by, unclear.
Days that come and go, like the injustice testing’s of nuclear.
My body is trapped into a cocoon ready to
pour out like the Monsoon that destroys lives,
But only destroying my mind.
Ocean breeze and cawaki’s are keeping my sanity at bay.
I can’t even stand the person next to me as
I lay my head and try to dream yet I only
dream of car crashes that end up bloody,
Damn, I hate dreams.
Blocking out the negativity,
hands covering my ears like COVID19,
covering us with fears.
Tears stream down those faces whos
hopes are in all the wrong places.
I guess this is the time to push hard and pray.
Always never ending,
Keeping the FAITH
For My God, Your God, Our God is Great
🙏
